Curtis Engine was founded in Maryland in 1944 and has remained locally owned and operated since that time. Curtis Engine is a distributor of power generator sets, engines, and switchgear for several major original equipment manufacturers including MTU Onsite Energy, Dresser-Waukesha, John Deere, and Automatic Switch Company (”ASCO”).

Over the last 60 years, Curtis Engine has developed a solid reputation as a one-stop provider of power generation equipment and services to industrial, commercial, and governmental customers located throughout the Mid-Atlantic region including:

We focus solely on power generation – we don’t work on bulldozers, truck engines and transmissions, or HVAC equipment. Each of our 21 technicians is factory certified and all of them are capable of troubleshooting engine, generator, fuel, and automatic transfer switch problems.

We currently service over 3,000 generator sets located throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. These generator sets are used in a variety of applications from emergency stand-by to peak shaving, co-generation and prime power plants paralleled to the grid. Curtis Engine services diesel and natural gas/LP models from nearly every major manufacturer including MTU/Detroit Diesel, Cummins/Onan, Caterpillar, Waukesha, Katolight, Kohler, Generac, Baldor, Elliott, John Deere, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Iveco, GM, Ford, and Perkins.

We work for some of the most prestigious clients in the world and maintain many of the most critical facilities in the region. Our clients include federal installations, data centers, hospitals, 911 centers, airports, correctional facilities, universities, manufacturing plants, property management firms, and national retail stores.

We offer a full-line of in-stock replacement parts and can turnkey new equipment purchases. Our services are designed to be comprehensive, responsive, cost effective, flexible, and proactive. In addition to our preventative maintenance and emergency services, we offer a variety of predictive maintenance services that range from continuous monitoring to periodic analysis and testing services to help detect problems before they happen. We also perform fully outsourced operations and maintenance services for power plant owners.
