Generators Quiet Enough to Meet Stringent Local County Requirements

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission required generators for their pumping stations and as a mobile source of power. Prince George’s County and Montgomery County, Maryland have very stringent noise level requirements.

Curtis Engine & Equipment, Inc.
Curtis Engine & Equipment, Inc. was chosen by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission to supply six generators sets ranging form 40 kW to 500kW for their pumping stations and mobile generator needs. Each unit was sound attenuated to meet the stringent requirements of Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties.

Curtis Engine & Equipment was selected based on its ability to meet the specifications developed by WSSC and to offer the lowest overall price for the six units. Mike Martin of Washington, D.C., Engineer for the WSSC, spearheaded the project. “The project had some very specific time lines for supplying the units and accessories. The pumping stations are located in residential areas and each had specific sound requirements. The Elliot Power Systems products were delivered on time by Curtis Engine & Equipment and met our requirements. We are very pleased with the results.”
